If you think you know everything about Prince Harry, you may be mistaken. According to data collected by YouGov, he is the eighth most famous royal in the UK, behind his brother Prince William, father King Charles, and sister-in-law Princess Catherine.
So, it’s no surprise that there is significant interest in Harry. However, that does not mean that we know everything about him. In fact, as it turns out, there are many lesser-known facts about the brother of the heir to the throne of the United Kingdom—facts that only his devoted fans would know.
Let’s start with the basics: his name. While we know him as Prince Harry, his legal name is Henry Charles Albert David, as noted by Vogue. It gets more confusing, as he does not technically have a last name. Royal biographer Dickie Arbiter explained, “He was born with a whole suite of given names, but of Wales.” After he tied the knot with Meghan Markle, he received another title: Duke of Sussex.

That’s not all the names Harry has. He also had some adorable nicknames from his mother, Princess Diana, when he was younger. “She used to refer to Harry as GKH (Good King Harry) because she thought he’d probably be better equipped for the role in the future than William,” royal correspondent Robert Jobson revealed on William & Harry: Princes At War?, reports the Express. According to E! News, Lady Di also called her younger son “my little Spencer” at times.
Prince Harry was a rebel, to say the least. According to The Irish Times, when Harry was a teenager, there were several reports claiming that he had been drinking underage and even smoking marijuana. King Charles reportedly sent him to a rehabilitation facility for a day, hoping the young prince could speak to recovering addicts and learn some lessons.

One of the strangest rumors about Prince Harry has been that he is not Charles’ son. Many conspiracy theorists believe that James Hewitt is actually his biological father. While the theory makes some sense, given Princess Diana admitted to having an affair with Hewitt, it couldn’t be possible. Diana met Hewitt at least several years after Harry was born.
Despite the facts working against the rumors, the claims have resurfaced many times, thanks to Harry’s crimson locks, which resemble Hewitt’s red hair. However, Hewitt himself denied the claims many times, but noted, “It sells papers.”
