With a place in the semi-final up for grabs, Liverpool hosts Leeds United in the EFL Cup on November 29.

Liverpool is in a brilliant run as they haven’t lost in the last 14 games in all competitions. The Reds sit comfortably in second place in the standings after 13 league matches. Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool has shown some excellent attacking skills, which has earn them tremendous success.

Going forward, the Kopites have been deadly as they have scored 36 goals from their recent 14 matches. They also defeated Tottenham 2-1 in the previous round of the EFL cup.

Leeds United, on the other hand, has recovered amazingly from a disappointing start in Championship play this season. Gary Monk’s men are currently fifth in the league, and they are very hopeful to be promoted to Premier League. In the last EFL Cup match, the Whites defeated Norwich City on penalties as the game ended 2-2.

In the latest meeting between these two teams, Liverpool beat Leeds United 1-0 when they met nearly seven years ago.

Team News: Liverpool

Liverpool is hugely disappointed as star player Philippe Coutinho was injured in the last game against Sunderland. Coutinho, who has been vital to Liverpool’s success this season, will be ruled out of the game. His absence is likely to cause a lack of creativity in Liverpool’s midfield.

Danny Ings and Adam Lallana are also ruled for this match due to their knee and groin injuries, respectively. The return of Daniel Sturridge is doubtful as he is still undergoing treatment for his calf injury.

Players such as Simon Mignolet, Alberto Moreno, Ragnar Klavan, and Lucas probably will be given a chance on this Tuesday night’s game. It is probable that Jurgen Klopp could field some of the young players against the Championship outfit.

Liverpool: Predicted Line-up (4-3-3) Mignolet – Moreno, Leiva, Matip, Alexander – Lucas, Henderson, Grujic – Mane, Origi, Woodburn

Team News: Leeds United

Injury concerns for Leeds United are relatively minor. Bailey Peacock-Farrell is set to miss the match due to a hand injury.

The likes of Lewie Coyle and Pablo Hernandez will be unavailable for selection due to knee and hamstring injuries, respectively.

Liam Bridcutt seems to be recovering very well from his foot injury, but he is unlikely to be risked in this match.

Gary Monk’s team have been playing well lately, and we expect to see the same team against Liverpool, which has been playing in recent matches.

Leeds United: Predicted Line-up (4-2-3-1) Green – Cooper, Bartley, Taylor, Ayling – Phillips, O’Kane – Roofe, Sacko, Doukara – Wood

Liverpool vs. Leeds United: Prediction

Liverpool will come into this match with a much-changed side. Many key players will be rested as Jurgen Klopp seems to have set his sights on Premier League this season. The Red armies are in red-hot form at the moment, and their momentum might outcast Leeds United.

Gary Monk’s side will come to Liverpool looking for a win. Leeds United hasn’t been able to beat Liverpool during the last five meetings, but they will hope to change that side of history in the coming match.

The match should be interesting to watch for neutrals, and we predicted that Liverpool might clinch a narrow victory against the away side.
