Charlie Cox, the actor who portrays the titular hero of the Daredevil TV show, has said that he would love to be in Captain America: Civil War , due to the fact that that’s what happens in the comics. According to reports , Cox would be extremely happy to see Daredevil have some form of cameo role in the film.

“Well he’s in the comics, but I think they’re already… I think I might have missed that boat… So unless someone watches the show and falls so madly in love with it that they decide to get me in for a day, that would be great, but I have no idea.”

Speaking to IGN , Cox has also said that, while he loves doing the TV show, he would also love to have some form of standalone film for the blind superhero. However, Daredevil has just been renewed for a second season , so a standalone film for Matt Murdock is unlikely.

“Yeah that would be awesome – I’d love to do that. I love doing the TV show and I love that we have so much more time to explore the origin story and really deal with character and inner conflict, and spend a lot of time brooding in that world and those feelings, which is unusual for a superhero. And usually when you’ve got a two-hour movie it’s action-packed, and so I think that’s one of the things that the show has really benefitted from – having that extra time to really get to know and sit with these characters and see them as humans. But I’d love to see Daredevil on the big screen again. It would be great. And if I could be involved with that I’d be thrilled.”

IGN also recently sat down with season one showrunner Steven DeKnight, before the news of the renewal hit and his exit as showrunner, to discuss the major plot points of Daredevil ‘s first season, as well as drop hints about what storylines may be explored in the future.

“Being the first show out of this 60 hour experiment that Marvel’s doing, I wanted to lay some groundwork. Whether or not that grows into something bigger, we’ll have to see as the other shows progress. But obviously the Steel Serpent [Madame Gao’s heroin logo], is a nod to Iron Fist, and that world, which is coming up. I really wanted to try and weave in as much as I could the feel of the other shows. There’s nothing I could really do at this point with Jessica Jones or Luke Cage, but with some of the Iron Fist mythology, it felt natural to be able to drop that in.”
