Calvin Harris is getting candid about his past 15-month romance with Taylor Swift.
Calvin, who dated Taylor from March 2014 until they split in late May 2015, recently opened up about his relationship and subsequent breakup with the “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer in a candid interview with GQ Magazine , where Harris admitted that “all hell broke loose” once he and Swift announced their split.
“For both of us, it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended, but all of the stuff that happened afterwards…” Harris said in the October issue of the magazine, likely referring to his social media rant about Swift and her subsequent high-profile romance with actor Tom Hiddleston.
“When it ended, all hell broke loose,” Calvin continued of breaking up with Taylor, admitting that his slew of pretty scathing tweets about Swift came “as a result of me succumbing to pressure.”

As reported by Us Weekly , Calvin seriously went in on Taylor back in July after she confirmed that she wrote his track with Rihanna “This Is What You Came For” under the pseudonym Nils Sjoberg.
“I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though and initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym,” Calvin tweeted out of Swift’s admission about the song, but has since deleted the tweets. “Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make me look bad at this stage though.”
Calvin Harris then went as far as to call out Taylor Swift’s new romance with Tom, which ended earlier this week, as well as Swift’s well-publicized past feud with Katy Perry.
“I figure if you’re happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex-boyfriend down for something to do,” Harris told Taylor on social media. “I know you’re off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I’m not that guy, sorry. I won’t allow it. Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you’ve earned a great one.”
Calvin then sparked further rumors of a feud with Swift following their breakup after it appeared that he took Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s side amid their recent drama with the pop star.
Shortly after their breakup and just days after Taylor went public with Hiddleston, E! News spotted Harris sporting Yeezys while out in Los Angeles, Kanye’s footwear brand and the shoes Taylor’s brother infamously filmed himself throwing away after West infamously rapped about Swift in the track “Famous.”
But it sounds like Calvin is now admitting that he regrets his Taylor Twitter rant and all the drama that followed his and Swift’s breakup. Harris told GQ that he found the very public nature of his romance with Taylor to be pretty tough.
“It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly,” Calvin said but admitted that Swift was actually considerate of his wishes not to be so public during their 15 months of dating.
“The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself,” Harris told the magazine of how his breakup with Swift was reported. “When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. [Taylor] respected my feelings in that sense.”
And it sounds like Swift is now sticking to more low-profile romances after splitting with both Calvin and Tom, as Us Weekly reported just this week that Taylor actually broke things off with Hiddleston because he wanted their dating life to be more public while she didn’t.
“Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with,” a source admitted of Swift’s latest breakup. “Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection but Tom didn’t listen to her concerns when she brought them up.”
