Brooke Shields claims that her ex-husband Andre Agassi flew into a rage when she was required to lick the fingers of Friends actor Matt LeBlanc for a guest appearance scene. The tennis star supposedly even destroyed his entire trophy collection, including his prized Wimbledone cup.
In a related report by the Inquisitr , when Brooke Shields’ divorce took place, it was reported that Agassi said she should “be happy we don’t have children.”
Stories like that are coming out with the publishing of Shields new memoir There Was a Little Girl: The Real Story of Mother and Me , which details her 1995 cameo in the U.S. sitcom Friends . The famous scene shows Brooke playing a stalker who believes Joey (Matt LeBlanc) is actually Doctor Drake Ramoray. During the dinner scene, Brookes’ character Erica licks the fingers of LeBlanc and then laughs.
Andre Agassi was watching on the sound stage in Los Angeles when the finger-licking good time occurred. He immediately became enraged, claiming Brooke Shields had “made him look a fool.” He apparently stormed off the set and drove all the way back to his home in Las Vegas. According to the London Evening Standard , that’s when Agassi decided to take out his aggression on his tennis trophies.
“Upon arrival he systematically smashed and destroyed every single trophy he had won, including Wimbledon and the US Open, never mind all the others,” she wrote.
Despite this incident, Brooke Shields’ marriage to Agassi occurred two years later in a wedding that Shields now calls a “mistake.”
“I could not form a sentence,” wrote Brooke. “I kept shaking my head as if I had duct tape across my mouth. It hit me all of a sudden — I knew I had made a mistake. I did not want to be married … I wanted to be a bride but I shouldn’t have been married yet.”
As for Agassi, he revealed in his autobiography Open that he also was concerned about the wedding.
“I have a thought no man should have on his wedding day: I wish I were leaving too. I wish I had a decoy groom to take my place,” he wrote.
According to the Herald Sun , Brooke Shields’ divorce from Andre Agassi took place in 1999 and she eventually went on to marry Chris Henchy, with whom she has two daughters, 10-year-old Rowan and 7-year-old Grier.
