Before she was Jenny from the block, or garnering excellent reviews from her performance in Selena , Jennifer Lopez was a fly girl. Back then, the aspiring actress and singer was part of a dance group that would perform on In Living Color between sketches.

Apparently, artist Sir Mix-A-Lot was inspired by J.Lo’s booty before anyone was really talking about it. According to the rapper, Lopez was the jump off for writing a song about a woman with a beautiful rump. This song turned out to be a massive hit. and he named it “Baby Got Back.”

According to TMZ , Sir-Mix-A-Lot told them that we all have Jennifer Lopez’s butt to thank for “Baby Got Back.”

TMZ writes, “Mix tells us he’s been admiring Kim Kardashian’s latest cake displays — but still gives more weight to J.Lo’s experienced bubble. In fact, he says her ass inspired him to write “Baby Got Back”… after seeing it in all its Fly Girl glory on “In Living Color.”

Some people just refuse to believe this news.

@andykhouri there is absolutely no way I believe this is true.

So why is this coming out decades after the song was written? Well, Nicki Minaj recently sampled “Baby Got Back” for her song “Anaconda.” The sample in the song is the real star, but either way the new track is a huge hit, and it’s putting Sir-Mix-A-Lot back on the map.

Back when she was first starting out, Lopez was ashamed of her booty .

“When I came out to L.A. from the Bronx and started pursuing my career as a dancer, as an actress, as a performer and singer, I realized that I was different. I was Latina first of all… and then my body wasn’t traditional. I was bottom-heavy, small on the top, you know I had thick thighs and people criticized me… Now booty is in fashion, finally, but before it was just, ‘You’re heavy!’”

She continued, “And I was like, ‘Wait a minute, there’s nothing wrong with me.’ I’m a size six… eight… eight on a heavy day and that’s OK, that’s healthy.”

These days, Lopez fully embraces her full-figured body. Now she has a single called “Booty” in celebration of her greatest asset.
