A community in Kansas City, Missouri is mourning the loss of an 8-year-old boy, Audrick Warren, who relatives say was found dead in the bathtub after drowning. The KSHB reports that on Tuesday afternoon, police officials received a call about an unresponsive child in a home in the 5800 block of North London.
Paramedics pronounced the child dead at the scene. His cause of death has not been determined, but relatives say that Audrick died from an accidental drowning. According to the child’s grandfather, Eddie E.L. Warren, Audrick’s father, Roderick Warren, left his job after receiving a FaceTime call from his 6-year-old daughter, who told him that she was unable to find her mother.
When he arrived at his home, he discovered Audrick’s lifeless body in the bathtub, and he immediately called his father before performing CPR. When he was unsuccessful, he called 911, but there was nothing they could do.
Audrick’s body will be transported to a local medical examiner’s office to determine the exact cause of death.
It was later uncovered that on that same day at approximately 10 a.m., the boy’s mother, Aushena Warren, had jumped 80-feet from the Bond Bridge and into the Missouri River, according to the KCFD Battalion Chief Larry Young, who is with the rescue division.

Young went on to say that Aushena survived her alleged suicide attempt, but her condition is unknown. He added that the likelihood of surviving an 80-foot jump is low as the fall would automatically knock the wind out of that person, and the individual would have difficulties functioning.
Kansas City police say Aushena’s suspected suicide attempt and Audrick’s death may be related, but investigators have not released further details.
This week’s tragedy left the community in shock, including a family friend who stated that when she last spoke with Aushena’s husband, she believed that everyone was in good spirits.

Another friend claimed that he saw Aushena two years ago with her two children, and from the looks of their relationship, it appeared as though everything was fine.
A neighbor, Elizabeth Henningfel, was also stunned after learning that Audrick was found dead in the bathtub of his home, adding that she feels for the child’s family as the incident is terrifying.
An investigation is ongoing.
