AT&T Wireless continues to roll out its 4G LTE network with 24 new markets receiving the high-speed mobile option this week. After launching those 24 markets, AT&T Wireless will have 4G LTE available to 150 million potential US customers.
Based on those numbers, AT&T has more than doubled the entire market it served just one year prior.
According to second-largest US carrier, its 4G LTE development is ahead of schedule. AT&T Wireless claims that its own implementation of 4G LTE data can be up to 10 times faster then its previous 3G system.
Recently launched 4G LTE areas for AT&T Wireless include Denver, Colorado; Louisville, Kentucky; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Daytona Beach and Pensacola, Florida, among others.
It’s not just America’s biggest cities that have been receiving AT&T 4G LTE coverage; smaller areas include Twin Cities, Minnesota; Provo, Utah; York, Pennsylvania; Anne Arundel County, near Annapolis, Maryland; and Fairfield County near Danbury, Connecticut. The Saratoga Springs, New York expansion also includes nearby Loughberry Lake, Lake Lonely, and portions of Saratoga Lake, Wilton, Malta, Greenfield, and Ballston Spa.
By the end of 2013, AT&T Wireless believes its network will stretch out to more than 250 million Americans. By 2015, that number will have expanded to 300 million users.
As of November 16 AT&T has launched in 103 markets.
With an increasing number of smartphones and tablets featuring 4G LTE service, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and other networks are working tirelessly to expand their networks as quickly as possible.
