Social Security payments for April are scheduled to be sent to recipients during the month. Payments are typically sent on Wednesdays based on the beneficiary’s birth date.

For example, anyone with their birthday falling between the 1 and 10 of a month would receive the payment on the second Wednesday. For them, the payment date this year is April 8.

Similarly, anyone born between the 11th and 20th of the month would receive payment on the third Wednesday, which is April 15. Finally, anyone born between the 21st and 31st of a month would get their payment on April 22, according to the Social Security Administration’s calendar.

The calendar also states, “If you received Social Security before May 1997 or if receiving both Social Security & SSI, Social Security is paid on the 3rd and SSI on the 1st.”

This calendar is available online, and it also depicts all the dates for the rest of the months of 2026. The schedule for Supplemental Security Income is also depicted here.

April is the first month in 2026 when the SSI payment is issued on its normal date. It is the first of the month or April 1 for that month. In case the first falls on a weekend or a holiday, beneficiaries get the payment on the last working day before it.

As April 1st is a Wednesday, there would be no delay, as reported by the Democrat and Chronicle.

  • Friday, May 1 – May payment
  • Monday, June 1 – June payment
  • Wednesday, July 1 – July payment
  • Friday, July 31 – August payment
  • Tuesday, Sept. 1 – September payment
  • Thursday, Oct. 1 – October payment
  • Friday, Oct. 30 – November payment
  • Tuesday, Dec. 1 – December payment
  • Thursday, Dec. 31 – January 2027 payment

Social Security payments are crucial because they provide a source of income after an individual retires or if they are unable to work because of a disability.

One can handle their Social Security account by opening a free “my Social Security” account. There, they can check their application status and update personal details like name, address, and other information.

They can also set up or update direct deposit information, as well as get tax documents needed to report Social Security income on their tax returns. In addition, the account can also be used to get a benefit verification letter to show what benefits they received.

According to USA.gov, the Social Security Administration oversees several benefit programs, including retirement, disability, and survivors’ benefits, as well as Supplemental Security Income.

It’s simple: Every cent you contribute to Social Security goes towards earning benefits in case of retirement, disability, or loss of a family breadwinner.

This program offers monthly payments to people with disabilities and anyone with little to no income, as written on the official website.

According to the information provided, both adults and children can apply for the program if they have “little or no income, little or no resources, a disability, blindness, or are age 65 or older.”

There are many factors that can influence SSI payments. For every job or means from which one earns $2, the SSI payment gets reduced by about $1.

For every $1 one receives from non-work sources, like disability benefits, unemployment payments, or pensions, the SSI payment is reduced by about $1.
