Eight months after ending her nine year marriage to Will Arnett, Amy Poehler has moved on with comedian Nick Kroll.
A source told Us Magazine , “She was looking for a guy like him. She wanted a comedian who ‘gets’ her.”
Exactly when the relationship began is unclear, but the two have known each for a couple of years now. Kroll has had a recurring role on Parks and Recreation as “The Douche” since 2011. “The Douche” is part of a shock jock radio program (his co-star being “Crazy Ira,” played by Matt Besser) which regular features “your mom” and fart jokes. In one episode, Kroll’s character even dismisses Poehler’s character, Leslie, as a possible lesbian.
Parks and Recreation was renewed for a sixth season on May 9 after months of being on the bubble.
Nick Kroll is the host of the Comedy Central series Kroll Show . The series, which premiered on January 16, was renewed for a 10-episode second season just two weeks after its debut.
Kroll is the first man Poehler has been linked to since her separation from Arnett . She and the Up All Night star, who have two sons together, had a “very amicable” split. The marriage was the second for Arnett, who was married to actress Penelpe Ann Miller for a year in 1995, and the first for Poehler.
Amy Poehler and Will Arnett were married on August 29, 2003. In 2005, Arnett admitted that he had a drinking problem before he started dating Poehler in 2000.
“The summer of 2000 was a real turning point for me, and I kind of got my act together and laid the bottle down and got to work, and really the last five years have been the greatest five years of my life, personally and then — as a result of that, I guess — professionally,” he said. “Six months after that, I met Amy.”
