Netflix game console users can enjoy full HD movies via the companies Watch Instantly technology, however PC users have been forced to stream only standard definition versions of those same movies, a move about to change before the end of 2010.
According to the companies official Twitter account, the issues have been based on both content licensing and technical issues, which are quickly being negotiated and resolved in an attempt to bring HD movies to users computers.
Along with the delivery of HD movies, Netflix is promising surround sound and closed captioning capabilities for computer users, a move which will level the playing field with other forms of digital delivery. [Engadget HD]
