FriendFeed has launched “FriendFeed Rooms,” sort of collaborative workspaces meets old fashioned groups.
To set up a FriendFeed room, users navigate to a new ‘rooms’ tab at the top of the page, then enter details as required. Rooms can be public or private. Interestingly users can utilize the FriendFeed bookmarklet to designate where they want to share items, creating a multi-channel publishing platform.
In a post to the FriendFeed blog Kevin Fox wrote that he used FriendFeed Rooms so that his “family has a place to brainstorm travel plans for my Cousin Sara’s upcoming wedding, and my Irish dance friends can discuss the merits of different dance shoes without cluttering up everyone else’s FriendFeed.”
It sounds like a handy feature, and it certainly doesn’t hurt as a value add proposition. If anyone has set up a FriendFeed group they want to share, leave a comment below.
