An Argentina boy, who is believed to be 12-years-old, accidentally shot and killed a girl, Georgina Magalí Vega, also 12, on Facebook Live. According to the New York Post , the incident unfolded on Tuesday at a home in Santa Rose de Calchines, where several children gathered to play with one another.
A boy, whose name has not been released, reportedly found his father’s shotgun and began playing with it when it suddenly made a loud clicking noise. The children were startled, but they continued playing and laughing. In the short Facebook Live video, the boy is seen pointing the gun at Georgina several times as she playfully says, “If you kill me, I’ll kill you.”
Georgina can be seen standing next to a dining chair, clad in a blue shirt and black pants. The boy is sitting on the couch, holding the shotgun and he tells her to “look at this! A shell… I loaded it… And I shoot you, but you don’t die!”
“Do you see blood or something?” Georgina replies. It appears the boy was pretending to shoot the girl, and she was playing along. Afterward, the child recording the boy and Georgina briefly turns the camera away–that’s when the house was silenced by the sound of a gunshot.
When they realized that Georgina had been shot in the face, the children ran out of the house and began screaming her name. A girl can be heard asking the suspected shooter what did he do. Another child stated that Georgina’s parents were going to kill them.
Neighbors, who heard the gunshot and saw several children running out of the house, rushed to the home and called 911 after seeing Georgina on the floor. When emergency medical services arrived at the scene, they pronounced the child dead at the scene.
The Facebook Live shooting comes almost a month after Steve Stephens, also known as the alleged Facebook Killer, shot and killed 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr. in Ohio. It was reported that two days before the murder, Stephens’ former girlfriend, Joy Lane, gave him an ultimatum. She told him: “It’s me or the gambling.” Relatives say that Stephens had a gambling problem.

Afterward, Stephens went on a rant on Facebook Live, claiming to have killed over 13 people, as he was driving through the city of Cleveland. He later encounters Godwin walking down the street and pulls over, telling the camera that he found “somebody to kill. I’m about to kill this guy right here. He’s an old dude, too.”
He approaches Godwin and says, “Hi, can you do me a favor?” Godwin says “sure” before he is asked to say the name Joy Lane. The man questions Stephens’ motives, but he ultimately repeats his former girlfriend’s name. The “Facebook Killer” then tells him that “she’s the reason why this is about to happen you” before allegedly shooting Godwin in the face and leaving him to die on the sidewalk.

Police officials searched for the so-called Facebook Killer for three days until he was found dead in Erie with a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside his vehicle.
The Facebook Live killings, as well as suicides, prompted the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, to hire another “3,000 people to review videos of crime and suicides.” He said, “These reviewers will also help us get better at removing things we don’t allow on Facebook like hate speech and child exploitation.”
“And we’ll keep working with local community groups and law enforcement who are in the best position to help someone if they need it — either because they’re about to harm themselves, or because they’re in danger from someone else.”
