Yield Software has taken $6 million Series B in a round led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson that includes WPP and WashingtonVC.
Yield Software provides internet marketing software that enables companies to expand their advertising and branding from traditional media to the internet. Yield offers a fully-integrated suite of automated web marketing capabilities including search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO) and landing page optimization. The solution is delivered as SaaS with an emphasis on ease of use and quick setup.
The interesting thing about this deal is DFJ and WPP investing in a SEO/ SEM company. It’s not that either market isn’t mainstream yet, it’s just that you don’t often see this sort of money from A-list VC’s investing in this vertical, and no doubt many in the space will be taking an interest.
