The Amaq News Agency has released a photo of ISIS claiming responsibility for the horrific mass shooting in Las Vegas, with the Islamic State group calling Stephen Paddock a “soldier” who allegedly converted to Islam months ago. As reported by the Inquisitr , a bunch of theories about Paddock have already emerged , with claims that Paddock had anti-Trump statements on Facebook. However, those theories have not been proven — and the only thing that has emerged is that Paddock once settled a lawsuit he brought against a Las Vegas hotel in 2012.

As reported by ABC News , ISIS claimed responsibility for their alleged “soldier” Paddock, with statements claiming that Stephen converted to Islam months ago being released on Monday. The photo of the ISIS claim can be seen below, but the publication notes that there is no proof that Paddock joined ISIS, nor did ISIS offer up any proof of Stephen’s alleged conversion to Islam prior to killing more than 50 people and wounding more than 400 people at a country music concert Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Was Las Vegas Shooter Paddock an ISIS Soldier Who Targeted Trump Supporters?

Despite the lack of proof of claims from the Islamic State group on Monday, whom ISIS didn’t call Stephen Craig Paddock by name but said “executed the operation in response to calls to target countries of the coalition,” CNN moderators wondered aloud if President Donald Trump’s supporters were targeted. Since Trump has property in Las Vegas, and there were likely plenty of Trump supporters at the country music festival, theories that Trump fans may have been targeted as Jason Aldean sang are being bandied about.

Vincent Sager also spoke with CNN after posting a video to his Instagram page showing the shooting. Vincent described living through the horrific event and spoke about all the theories he has heard about whether or not Trump supporters were a factor or not. Sager noted that he is hearing many different theories about the shooting he survived.

It is not clear if 64-year-old Paddock actually had any kind of involvement with ISIS from his home in Mesquite, Nevada, or if Paddock’s attack was really a “lone wolf” attack. President Trump, meanwhile, spoke about the mass shooting in Las Vegas, on Monday, from the White House. Trump said that he would visit Las Vegas on Wednesday, and he turned to Psalm 34:18 to offer comfort to the hurting in the wake of the shooting.

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”
