The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are poised to make their most poignant visit yet next week, when they make their first official visit to Sussex on October 3.

Kensington Palace — the official communication portal on social media for Prince Harry and Meghan — tweeted the news that the couple would be taking a trip to their namesake county.

According to Hello! Magazine , the couple will be visiting both East and West Sussex, and will start their day in Chichester. They will be visiting Edes House, where the Sussex copy of the American Declaration of Independence is housed. Traveling along the coastline, they will then stop at Bognor Regis to officially open the University of Chichester’s Engineering and Digital Technology Park.

They will then travel to East Sussex and the town of Brighton, where they will tour the iconic Royal Pavilion. There they will “learn about the building’s history and the impact that it had on the social development of Brighton in the 18th century.” The building was originally built by George, Prince of Wales.

Following their tour of the pavilion, they will walk to Survivors’ Network, which is a ” charity that supports survivors of sexual violence and abuse in Sussex.” They will be met there by staff, volunteers, and service users.

Further along the coast in the town of Peacehaven, Harry and Meghan will visit the JOFF Youth Centre — where they will meet young people from youth groups across East Sussex.

Earlier in the year, as they exchanged their marriage vows, Harry and Meghan were granted additional royal titles and holdings — for Meghan, her first.

The news was officially announced on the royals’ website .

“The couple were given a dukedom by Queen Elizabeth on May 19 this year when they tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, with the monarchy bestowing the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex upon Harry and Meghan. This gave Meghan an official royal title.”

Their visit to Sussex will come just days before the couple jets off on their first major overseas tour — which will see them travel to Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, and Fiji. Part of their time in Australia will be dedicated to the Invictus Games, as the Inquisitr previously reported.
