Bernie Sanders was arriving at a Prop 61 rally in downtown Los Angeles on Monday when a heckler accused him of “selling out to a 2-party system.” The Vermont senator was on his way to the rally when a protestor yelled at him through a megaphone.
TMZ had a video of the incident in which Bernie Sanders was chastised for supporting Hillary Clinton.
The heckler fired at Sanders, “Why did you sell out to the two party system? Hillary Clinton trusts you??”
Bernie Sanders was asked by a reporter what his take is on loyal supporters writing him in on ballots when the protestor suddenly blasted his displeasure at Sanders on a megaphone. The senator went along his way without reacting to the heckler.

Sanders still has a lot of support even though the election is essentially between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Heavy reports that some of the senator’s supporters are following his lead and voting for Clinton. Other supporters are finding it difficult to make the switch because they felt betrayed by the Democratic party following the Democratic National Convention when emails from Wikileaks suggested the DNC was trying to get Sanders out of the election. Donna Brazile gave campaign questions to Clinton ahead of one debate she was to have with Bernie Sanders.
Bernie Sanders made his feelings known to one voter about write-ins for the election. He approved of it in Vermont because his chances of winning there were slim, but urged people to vote for Clinton in other states.
Many supporters of Sanders who don’t want Clinton are voting for Jill Stein. Her political views are tied closely to those of Bernie Sanders.
Sanders also has supporters voting for Libertarian Gary Johnson. Since he ranks higher than Stein in the polls, Sanders’ supporters hope that Johnson will accumulate enough votes as a third-party candidate to break the cycle of a 2-party system.
Supporters have shown interest in Donald Trump as well. Reddit’s subreddit group, “The Donald,” had one user write a thought provoking piece about supporting Trump.
“In the beginning of the election cycle I was motivated by Bernie and his message of fighting corruption… I saw how the DNC rigged the NYC primary with their Brooklyn voter purge which pissed me off,” the message read in part.
“Then I saw how many other primaries had been tainted by the DNC corruption which began pushing me to Trump … When I read the Podesta emails that sealed the deal for me… I want a president who will help shape a new America and a better foreign policy. We can repair our infrastructure, rebuild our cities with US Steel and help create a new way forward for the next generation of Americans.”
Bernie Sanders supporters aren’t a unified group when it comes to voting one way or the other. It’s believed that those voters will make a big enough difference in this election, however.
In the meantime, Sanders urging voters to elect Clinton as the next president. A lot of his supporters are wary of voting for Clinton , Fox News reports. While at Iowa State University on Saturday, Bernie Sanders pleaded with his supporters to vote for Hillary Clinton.

“Get beyond personality,” he said.
“Alright, you don’t like Hillary Clinton, you don’t like Donald Trump fine. You like yourselves. I hope so, if that means taking a hard look at the issues the candidates stand for. We’re not running here for class president of the local high school. This is not a popularity contest. We are electing the most powerful individual in the world.”
For many supporters of Bernie Sanders, it’s about voting for the lesser of two evils.
