The reported eight-carat engagement ring is apparently big news among style bloggers, many of whom seem to think the piece is just too much of a good thing. The Daily Mail explains that style experts haven’t been too friendly when it comes to delivering their critiques.
“Jennifer’s engagement ring is valuable, for sure, but a stone that size is not exactly sophisticated,” one style expert explained to the website. “In fact, one might argue that it is downright gaudy. It looks like it belongs on the hand of a Real Housewife. I love Jennifer’s clean and elegant aesthetic — but this ring is completely at odds with that.”
The Engagement Experts , two girls and a guy (they don’t include him) who own and operate a website devoted to all things engagement ring-related, explained to the Daily Mail that Aniston’s fiance Justin Theroux may have felt some pressure to deliver something spectacular for his bride-to-be.
“We can’t think of anyone else out there whose engagement and ring would cause more hype and that just isn’t fair on a guy who was likely already nervous about popping the question. In some ways the ring is exactly what it had to be — over the top, not comparable to anything else, and worthy of the attention it would inevitably get,” the experts explained.
