The PlayStation Phone is pretty much happening, despite a lack of official confirmation. Only a few weeks back, this video of the device in action emerged, and now Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun claims that the PlayStation Phone will be out by spring 2011 in North America and Europe. The pieces are falling into place.
Engadget also points out that the timing of the Asahi Shimbun report makes sense, with the CES and MWC trade shows just around the corner.
No final name has been settled on yet, though ‘Zeus Z1’ and ‘Xperia Play’ are just two possibilities being generated by the rumor mill. Where this leaves the PSP 2 – a device that is already doomed , according to some commentators – is anybody’s guess.
