Actress Kim Fields is pregnant with her second child and plans to formally announce the new baby news next week on The Real.
Kim Fields , 44, is best known for her role as Tootie on the popular 1980s show The Facts Of Life about a girls’ boarding school.
Fields and husband Christopher Morgan, 37, have a six-year-old son named Sebastian. The actress, who shuns the “over 40 and pregnant” label, says that she and her hubby had been hoping for a second child, but suffered some losses along the way:
“Sebastian and Christopher are very excited. We’re very, very blessed… It was planned. We’ve actually been trying for a couple years. We had gotten pregnant twice and [miscarried]. Chris and I were very blessed to really have one another, to have our family and friends and our God to really get us through that.”
Fields adds that by the time she learned the good news, she thought the clock had run out on new babies — having previously appeared on Living Single, Kim says that she thought at 44 menopause was the culprit for early pregnancy symptoms:
“Funny enough, for a minute I thought I was getting pre-menopausal ‘cuz certain things were starting to be irregular and then other symptoms started — my memory and I was clumsier than normal which I couldn’t even believe was possible. Then our son got sick with a stomach virus and I caught it. Chris said, ‘No, babe, you’re a little sicker than Sebastian. You need to go and get that checked out’ and I said,’Okay.’ ”
Fields continues:
“They tested me and said, ‘Oh honey, you’re not dehydrated. You’re two months pregnant.’”
