During today’s press conference, Firemonkey’s executive producer Rob Murray revealed one of the smartphone’s latest video games, the Electronic Arts-published Real Racing 3 . During the presentation, Murray stated that the racer would deliver “full console quality” action, a statement which is sure to raise eyebrows among console enthusiasts.
“We created the ultimate racing experience on iOS,” Murray explained, as reported by The Verge . “Today I’m going to show you the next level. ‘Real Racing 3.’ Real tracks, real cars, real people you can play against anytime you like.”
For people who love playing online games on the go, the ability to easily pop into a race with other people via asynchronous multiplayer is certainly intriguing. During the presentation, the Firemint CEO proudly showed off the feature. “Now you can see Vince is driving, and he’s racing me. How is that possible? Well we’re using a feature in Game Center. Time shifted head to head,” he explained.
According to Touch Arcade , the game takes full advantage of the iPhone 5’s A6 processor. The images, which are displayed in widescreen, look as sharp as many racers currently on the market for both the XBox 360 and the Playstation 3.
