Peaches Geldof, 23-year-old mom of baby Astala, five months, was walking with her son and chatting on her cell phone when the kid toppled out of the stroller on the pavement — and she stayed on the phone while attending to the distressed tyke.
It’s difficult to see if Peaches Geldof’s boy was distressed in the series of pics as he lay in a heap in the toppled stroller, but it’s kind of alarming that she didn’t stuff the phone in her pocket with a quick “I’ll call you back” as she assessed the situation.
In the series of images, Geldof is walking down the street with the boy and talking on the phone, not an uncommon sight nowadays as mobile phones become ever more omnipresent in our society.
But the handset remains glued to her ear as the stroller begins to tilt, and the final pic shows Geldof still chatting as the child lay in a pile of blankets on the street in a tumble many parents would be in tears while viewing.
Geldof had a busy and fun-filled weekend getting married, so perhaps the preparations kept her on her toes and not responding as efficiently. Of her star-studded wedding, the rocker’s daughter said that she felt her late mother Paula Yates watching over her as she wed musician Thomas Cohen :
“I feel her presence all the time but especially today … Mum loved family celebrations and she would adore Tom and the fact that we’ve married here … I know that she is watching over me and feeling so happy for us.”
