Brock Lesnar is no stranger to accusations of using performance enhancing drugs (PEDs). The WWE star has been accused of taking steroids and other substances due to his large muscular frame.

Back in 2009, Brock Lesnar talked to Maxim and explained how frequently he has been tested and controversially compared his genetic prowess to a black man:

“I bet you I’ve taken over 60 steroid tests. In college I had 15 random drug tests in two years. I’ve taken drug tests for the NFL, the WWE, the UFC. I must be pretty good at masking steroids. God gave me this body: Are you jealous of it or what? Give me a break. I got the genetics of—not to get into racism or anything — but I’m built like a black man. Would you say so?… It’s all genetics. I wouldn’t say we’re all created equal. That’s just to make the other guys feel good who don’t have what you’ve got.”

Brock Lesnar has about 260 to 285 pounds of mostly muscle in his 6ft 3 frame. The UFC former heavyweight champion was a wrestler in college and has always had an above average athletic body.

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to fight Mark Hunt at UFC 200 and it didn’t take long for the super Samoan to accuse Lesnar of steroid abuse. In the UFC 200 media conference call Brock Lesnar responded to the allegations:

“I’ve been dealing with that my entire life,” Lesnar said the conference call. “I’m a white boy and I’m jacked. Deal with it. What do you want me to say? I’m a white boy and I’m jacked, deal with it.”

Brock Lesnar has never failed a drug test in his collegiate wrestling days, in the WWE or during his reign in the UFC. Since announcing his return to the UFC, USADA has tested the former heavyweight champ five times in a two-week period.

Since Lesnar has never publicly failed his test, accusations of PED use are baseless and most likely an attempt to explain his unique physique. Mark Hunt may also be trash talking his opponent as a form of mental warfare before they fight at UFC 200.

Brock Lesnar went on to talk about his fight against Mark Hunt being a clash of styles. Hunt vs. Lesnar is a striker vs. grappler bout, with Lesnar having an advantage with wrestling and Mark Hunt having the advantage when they strike on the feet.

Former UFC title contender Chael Sonnen commends Brock Lesnar for taking on a tough opponent but doesn’t think he would win. Sonnen calls into question Lesnar’s skill as a wrestler, hinting that his success is down to his bigger frame rather than skills and technique.

Talking to Submission Radio , Sonnen states:

“So he was an effective wrestler, but you know, he had some size and he had a lot of other things to help him get his hand raised. It wasn’t skill and technique. He kept good position, he was a good competitor and he achieved some really great things. So I don’t think that a guy as short as Hunt is just gonna get bum-rushed and taken down.”

Chael Sonnen is also a skilled wrestler but has been busted for PED usage during his stint in the UFC. He states that Mark Hunt’s shorter 5 ft 10 frame will make it difficult for Brock Lesnar to take him down.

Dana White also echoed this sentiment, stating that Mark Hunt has done very well against wrestlers in the past.

What do you think of Brock Lesnar’s PED allegations? Does the fact that he has never tested positive work in his favor? Sound off in the comments below.
