Tech giant Apple has announced that their long awaited upgrade to their smash hit program iTunes, iTunes 11 , is finally available for download. Mac users can find the program in the app store or Windows users can search for updates when opening iTunes. Apple was originally supposed to release iTunes 11 in October, but put off the launch due to “engineering difficulties.”
It was reported this week that Apple had planned to make its self declared November deadline for release of iTunes 11. In 2001, iTunes was released as a stand alone music player. Now it is the way that Apple keeps all its users connected by being a gateway for music, movies, books, ringtones, apps and a way to manage your iPhone, iPod and iPad.
The new iTunes is significantly faster than its predecessor allowing faster boot times and run times. The new program is also firmly aligned with the iCloud which allows users to store their purchases in the “cloud” ad not need to keep them in the program taking up hard drive space. The new iTunes has a cool integration feature with iCloud. Gone are the days when you buy a song on one device and it automatically downloads to all of them. Now it put s copy of the songs artwork on all your devices and you can either stream it from the cloud or click on it to download it.
