While the road to WrestleMania 34 has yet to truly begin, WWE rumors surrounding the event have been going on for weeks. They’ve included talk of what the main event match will be as well as who will be competing in the matches for the WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship. Right now, those belts are secured around the waists of “The Beast” Brock Lesnar and “Modern Day Maharaja” Jinder Mahal, but could one of them drop their title ahead of Mania? Recent sports novelty odds have two superstars at the top of the list for potential candidates to dethrone Brock or Jinder.
Thanks to betting odds, some new speculation has arrived for two possible champions to emerge in the weeks ahead of the big WrestleMania 34 pay-per-view. As WWE Leaks indicated, the Kambi oddsmakers have listed odds for who could win the WWE Championship and Universal title ahead of the event. Two superstars are tied atop the list as SmackDown Live ‘s United States Champion Baron Corbin and WWE Raw roster member Braun Strowman are each at 2 to 1 odds. This gives both of the title holders on the two different brands possible challengers. Of the two, Braun Strowman recently made what appears to be a turn from heel to face, while Corbin is still clearly a heel.

The WWE rumors for weeks have pointed to two specific matches for these titles at WrestleMania 34 . For the WWE Universal Championship, Brock Lesnar is expected to hold the title until Mania and then defend it against Roman Reigns. For Jinder Mahal, fans are expecting him to defend the WWE Championship against John Cena at the event. Still, the possibility of storyline changes or unfortunate injuries during competition shouldn’t be ignored. That’s probably why Corbin and Strowman are leading the list for now. A lot can still change in the coming weeks, including this coming Tuesday.
Right behind Corbin and Strowman is Bray Wyatt at 10 to 1 odds, followed by Dean Ambrose at 8 to 1. Finn Balor is at 3 to 1 odds, with John Cena (1 to 10) and Kevin Owens (3 to 5) right behind him on the list of possible championship winners before Mania . Cena is scheduled to officiate the upcoming “Champion vs. Champion” match at Survivor Series 2017 involving Jinder Mahal vs. Brock Lesnar.
“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles isn’t near the top of the odds list. For fans wondering, Styles is not currently listed at all due to the fact he’s got a championship match on Tuesday. Styles was previously listed as a 1 to 10 favorite on the betting odds to become WWE or Universal Champion next. A win on Tuesday when Styles battles Mahal on SmackDown Live would possibly give Styles the WWE Championship and make things very interesting heading towards Mania.
For WWE fans, there have been plenty of people who want Styles back in that top spot, and others who also believe Strowman has put in a solid effort deserving of a title reign. There’s still a good five months to go until WrestleMania 34 so a lot could happen.
