The Japanese government plans to launch the world’s first 4K television broadcast in July 2014.

According to GadgetBox , the first 4K television broadcast is two years ahead of schedule. The broadcast will hopefully stir up more demand for the ultra-high-definition TVs.

The service will begin from communications satellites, followed by satellite broadcasting and ground digital broadcasting.

The ultra-high-definition televisions, also known as 4K TVs, are capable of four times the resolution of current high-definition TVs. These televisions are now on sale by Japanese makers including Sony, Panasonic, and Sharp.

South Korea’s LG Electronics is another manufacturer of 4K televisions.

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications had aimed to kick-start the 4K ultra-high-definition service in 2016, but that has been moved forward to July 2014.

The plan is to launch the broadcast when the final match of the 2014 football World Cup is set to take place in Brazil.

According to VentureBeat , there is one major set back to the 4K ultra-high-definition format. It is way too expensive.

4K ultra-high-definition televisions are going for roughly ten thousand dollars, and that’s for the cheaper ones.

So, if you can afford a 4K ultra-high-definition television, then look forward to getting your mind blown with the new 4K broadcast coming in July 2014.

Japan has already begun the development of super high-definition 8K TVs, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications plans to launch the test 8K TV broadcast in 2016.

The launch of the 8K television broadcast is also two years ahead of schedule.
