Elizabeth Warren ended a long period of silence as to whom she would endorse in the 2016 presidential election. In an interview with the Boston Globe Thursday, Warren said that Clinton was her choice.
Warren followed up Thursday evening on the Rachel Maddow Show . Her interview included a blistering attack on Donald Trump.

It wasn’t the first time the Massachusetts senator has bluntly expressed her feelings about The Donald. Past remarks include calling the reality show star a “loser,” a “small, insecure money grubber” and “weak.”
Described as a ‘sledgehammer’ by the New York Times , Warren gave Trump a dressing-down in no uncertain terms at the American Constitution Society’s national convention in Washington, D.C., Thursday night.
“Donald Trump is a loud, nasty, thin-skinned fraud who has never risked anything for anyone and who serves no one but himself.”
Calling out Trump’s attack on a federal judge, Gonzalo P. Curiel, based on his Hispanic heritage, Warren said, “Donald Trump says they ought to look into Judge Curiel because what Judge Curiel is doing is a total disgrace.”
“No, Donald, you should be ashamed of yourself. Ashamed.
“Ashamed for using the megaphone of a Presidential campaign to attack a judge’s character and integrity simply because you think you have some God-given right to steal people’s money and get away with it. You shame yourself and you shame this great country.
“Race-baiting a judge who spent years defending America from the terror of murderers and drug traffickers simply because long ago his family came to America from somewhere else. You, Donald Trump, are a total disgrace.”

On the same day that President Obama released a video stating his formal endorsement of Clinton , Warren let loose with praise for the former Secretary of State.
“She’s a fighter — a fighter with guts.”
Warren told the Boston Globe that she was ready to make a commitment to Clinton’s success in her campaign.
“I’m ready to jump in this fight and make sure that Hillary Clinton is the next president of the United States and be sure that Donald Trump gets nowhere near the White House.”
Warren praised Bernie Sanders on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show , saying that his efforts had been “powerfully important.”
“He ran a campaign from the heart, and he ran a campaign where he took these issues and really thrust them into the spotlight – issues that are near and dear to my heart – and he brought millions of people into the democratic process.”
Warren had a meeting with Sanders before making her official decision on the endorsement, the New York Times said. She and Sanders share a common dislike for superdelegates, and Warren favors many of the same policies. She is expected to sway the Sanders supporters to embrace Hillary.
Warren’s name has come up as a potential running mate for Clinton more than once, but Warren said they had not discussed it. Clinton voiced her respect for the senator.
“We’ve stayed in touch over the campaign and I’m very much looking forward to having her good advice and counsel as we move to the general election campaign. I have the highest regard for her.”
According to The Hill , Clinton has not made any commitments about who she wants for a running mate, but this week she did admit that “maybe” the country is ready for a tw0-woman presidential ticket.
