Apple fans may be able to get their hands on a new iPhone in exactly one month from today. The iPhone 5 release date is rumored to be September 21st, 2012.
Johnny Evans at Computer World writes:
“Thinner, faster and smarter, Apple seems set to introduce iPhone 5 on September 12, with the device shipping September 21 in the US and from early October in international markets, the latest reports once again confirm.”
Other sources aren’t sold on the September 21st release date. They do agree, however, that the iPhone 5 will be released sometime in September.
Germany’s Mobilcom-Debitel recently started sending out emails to its customers saying that the new iPhone would be available this September.
The email reads: “In September, it’s finally time for a new generation of smartphone to go on sale.”
The company also posted an image posted on its website of what appears to be the new iPhone hidden behind a red curtain.
Do you think September 21st is the real iPhone 5 release date?
The date falls in line with other reports. The International Business Times reports that the CFO of Verizon talked about a “new phone coming in the fourth quarter. A “trusted AT&T” source told BGR that the iPhone 5 would be released in the third or fourth week of September. Rene Ritchie, the editor-in-chief at iMore, also said that the release date is expected for September 21st.
“iMore has learned that Apple is planning to debut the new iPhone at a special event on Wednesday, September 12, 2012, with the release date to follow 9 days later on Friday, September 21. This information comes from sources who have proven accurate in the past.”
But the best, and arguably the most reliable rumor that is currently floating around doesn’t really have anything to do with the iPhone 5 release date. Instead, it has to do with the complete redesign of the new Apple phone.
A video entitled “LEAKED Official Apple iPhone 5 Promo Video” recently hit the internet, giving Apple fanboys a glimpse at the newest generation of iPhones.
