Tyra Banks welcomes her first child, baby boy York Bank Asla. Banks and her Norwegian photographer boyfriend Erik Asla couldn’t be ecstatic with this arrival. The gorgeous model shared the arrival of her first child with an Instagram post.
She tells in her sweet Instagram post how York is the “best present” the couple have worked and “prayed so hard” for. She told the world that the boy’s got her fingers and “big eyes” and Erik’s mouth and chin.
As Tyra welcomed her first child, she called the woman who carried her “miracle baby boy” an “angel.” The boy is called “York,” with both Asla and Banks’ last names. This could be a new beginning of sorts for Tyra, who recently announced the end of America’s Next Top Model, a project that made Banks a household name and a successful entrepreneur.
Tyra has never kept her desire of wanting a baby a secret and has expressed it publicly on multiple occasions. “Since I was 24, I used to say every year, ‘I will have kids in three years,’ ” she says. “I kept saying it over and over again. Because my business is very entrepreneurial. I’m not for hire, so I have to do everything. I kept trying to find that time for that to happen,” People quoted her as saying.
“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy. The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik,” she told Peoplemagazine. Welcoming her first child, Tyra says her son reminds of the struggles people have had with infertility and that she prays for them “everyday,” Peoplehas reported.
Tyra Banks has been very open about her relationship with Erik Asla, her boyfriend, and never shies away from posting pictures of them together. They are often spotted shopping and taking trips together, reports Daily Mail . Erik Asla is a Norwegian photographer who has also assisted reknowned photographer Herb Ritts, according to his website . This hot guy describes himself as a “photographer, father, dreamer” on his Twitter account.
Hollywood Life says his work has appeared in several magazine like Vanity Fair , Bazaar, and GQ . Tyra has been dating Erik for two years now, and the two have always wanted a family together. Tyra has been very outspoken about her fertility issues. She has said she underwent IVF procedures in a hope to get pregnant. Banks has also said that she wanted to have more than one kid. “I want a litter,” she tells People . She says she was after turning 40, if there was one thing that constantly played on her mind, it was not not having kids. She says she could feel like the clock was ticking and she could not do anything about it.
Through her show, Tyra Presents FABLife, she talks about various issues that concern her and women around the country. She has been a successful model and an entrepreneur, but it looks like Tyra has always wanted to be a mom more than anything else.
