Forget for a moment that Buddy Media CEO Michael Lazerow just sold his company to Salesforce $689 million and let us focus on what might possibly be the best “I just sold my company” video every released on the web.
Inspired by the Ben Breedlove video the CEO and soon to be Salesforce employee goes silent with accompanying music, using a tablet to share his own personal story of heart disease and business triumphs to showcase why he is thankful for every single day he has on this planet and the opportunities that hard work and commitment have provided to him over the last 13 years.
Lazerow could have just as easily talked about Buddy Media and its ability to seamlessly connect customers to major brands, which among its social media marketing counterparts there really is no equal. Instead he sent out an inspiration message of hope for other business owners and anyone struggling with personal problems of health.
In the end the Lazerow video isn’t about his heart, it is about confronting fear head on and dealing with that fear. He backs up his quest to fight fear head-on with a quote from Gandhi:
“The enemy is fear. We think it is hate, but, it is fear.”
I personally enjoy his remark about Salesforce’s $100 million donation to build a children’s hospital and his gratitude towards the company for their massive innovations in the cloud computing space, it shows that he isn’t just selling his company to the highest bidder but rather to an organization that itself has had no fear when it comes to attempting new forms of innovation.
