Samsung Galaxy S III Launches In 28 Countries

The Samsung Galaxy S III, perhaps the biggest threat to Apple’s iPhone, was finally released in 28 countries on Tuesday, including Britain, France, Germany, and Italy.

Those of you in the United States will have to wait just a bit longer before you can get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy S III, but if the reviews from European outlets are anything to go by, it looks like the Galaxy S III will be well worth the wait.

In case you’ve forgotten what’s so special about the Samsung Galaxy S III, the South Korean mobile giant’s latest phone runs off the latest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.4), and is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and a 2100 mAh battery.

More importantly is the display; the Samsung Galaxy S III has a 4.8-inch AMOLED display with a HD resolution of 720 x 1,280 which, according to early reviews, looks gorgeous.

“The colours are bright and highly saturated, just like on its predecessor, but nothing quite prepares you for its hyperreal feel,” PC Pro UK wrote in their review of the Samsung Galaxy S III. “Video content and photos pop off the screen so dramatically they almost look 3D, and every detail of every movie scene is laid bare.”

Another selling point, or so Samsung hopes, is the Galaxy S III’s “S Voice” feature. S Voice is admittedly a clone of the iPhone’s Siri voice assistant, but at least it appears to be a fairly good clone.

“Although voice recognition is a bit sketchy at times, the S Voice assistant managed to set alarms, search the web and send messages with around the same success rate as Apple’s voice assistant,” Stuff UK wrote in their review .

What do you think of the Samsung Galaxy S III?
