Despite revealing that she is now single in a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, new photos have emerged that suggest Dakota Johnson might still be in a relationship. According to People , the Fifty Shades of Grey star was spotted holding hands with former boyfriend Matthew Hitt only days after her appearance with DeGeneres.
Johnson, who shot to fame after her role as Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey , was on the Ellen DeGeneres Show when she discussed her dating life and how she was currently not in a relationship.
However, based on the recent photos, it appears as though Johnson may be back with Hitt. The photos in question feature Hitt and Johnson walking casually through the streets of New York City while holding hands. In fact, in one image, Hitt is seen with his arm around Johnson, suggesting that the couple might be back together.
That being said, the two have a history of dating on and off, so their public display of affection could mean nothing at all. While we wait to learn more, neither Johnson nor Hitt have officially commented on the status of their relationship following the release of the photos.
Meanwhile, according to Movie Pilot , the actress also discussed her role in the upcoming Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed movies. Although being a part of a box office success like Fifty Shades of Grey has its upsides, Johnson revealed to DeGeneres that she sometimes finds herself in awkward conversations.
“Sometimes… Sometimes people just say things that are a little bit awkward for me,” she stated. “I was in a cab recently, and the driver was like, ‘You know, my wife and I, we saw your film. We really liked it.’ And [then] he goes, ‘… I thought there could be more sex.’ And I was about to roll out of the car when it was driving.”
With the sequel expected to feature even more sex scenes than the first, it is possible that the cab driver, and other fans with a similar opinion, might get their wish in Fifty Shades Darker .
In her usual hilarious fashion, DeGeneres ended the interview with a few gifts for Johnson, which included a few sex-themed toys in honor of her role in the erotic drama.
In addition to her upcoming movies in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, fans can watch Johnson star alongside Johnny Depp in her newest movie, Black Mass .
