Dakota Johnson recently revealed some new and exciting details concerning the upcoming film, Fifty Shades Darker . In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres this past week, the Fifty Shades of Grey star revealed when production would begin for the sequel, and also dished a bit of news about her dating life.
In a video clip of the interview, which was released by Us Magazine , DeGeneres started things off by asking Johnson if she ever had strange encounters with fans of the hit erotic drama.
“Well, sometimes, people just say things that are a little bit awkward for me… Like, I was in a cab recently, and the driver was like, ‘My wife and I, we saw your film. We really liked it.’ And he goes, ‘… I thought there could be more sex.’ “
Although she apparently runs into a strange fan from time to time, Johnson reiterated that nobody in her own family has seen the film, including her parents, Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. “Nuh-uh, nobody in my family,” she stated.
Meanwhile, with many fans eager to learn when production would finally start for Fifty Shades Darker , Dakota Johnson revealed that filming would kick off “sometime in the new year.” Following this revelation, DeGeneres handed over two sex related gifts for Johnson, including a pair of handcuffs and a flogger.
The news that Fifty Shades Darker will start production in the new year should excite fans, as many were starting to worry that the film would fall behind schedule and miss its scheduled release date.
At the same time, the actress, who is set to appear in the new movie Black Mass , also told DeGeneres that she is now a single woman . Johnson had been dating her former boyfriend, Matthew Hitt, since May before once again deciding to end things with the rock singer.
Following Johnson’s confirmation that she is no longer dating Hitt, DeGeneres asked the Fifty Shades star if she found guys difficult to manage. “Are they scared of you?” she asked Johnson.
“You mean, like when they run away from me?… I don’t know… I guess that if those are the two options, I guess they’re scared of me. They either love me or they’re running for the hills.”
Fifty Shades Darker , which stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, is set to hit theaters everywhere February 10, 2017.
