WWE News: WWE Legend Owen Hart Finally Being Inducted Into The WWE Hall Of Fame In 2016?

WWE Legend Owen Hart has been sort of blackballed for a long time, but not because of anything he did. Rather, it has been Owen’s widow, Martha, who has basically made things difficult for WWE. Bret Hart returned to WWE about five years ago, and has been working with WWE off and on since. Hart was last seen on WWE programming when he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, so it was nice to see WWE bury the hatchet with Hart and allow things to get better between everyone.

Hart has been used on WWE RAW and in random roles as a WWE Legend, but he has been the only Hart to ever do so. Owen Hart passed away in the prime of his career, during a time when WWE and Bret had a falling out. Montreal Screwjob, anyone?

It was a massive issue for WWE, and fans were gutted with the loss of Owen. Owen was not the type of legend as Bret, but he was a legend who did a ton of big things with WWE, and he should be remembered for his time in WWE. Finally, he may be honored in the best way a legend can be honored: the WWE Hall of Fame.

Bret Hart spoke to Off the Record on their Periscope account recently and discussed Owen and a variety of other things. Bret said that his brother, Owen, should go into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016, around WrestleMania 32 .

It does look as if WWE can put Owen Hart in if they would want to do so. Bret mentioned that it is long overdue, and he would be disappointed if it didn’t happen. He even went on record to say that unless they induct Owen, he won’t attend another Hall of Fame ceremony until he and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart are inducted as a tag team, The Hart Foundation. He also said that he hopes WWE inducts the whole Hart Foundation next year in Dallas, meaning himself, Owen, Jim, Brian Pillman, and the British Bulldog.

While the Hart Foundation going in next year is a toss up, one can imagine that WWE will do one or the other from the Hart Dynasty. Owen having a DVD and Blu-ray out proves that WWE is trying their best to show off how great Owen Hart was in his time, which is something they did with others before they went into the WWE Hall of Fame. Bret mentioned that he fears what will happen with the DVD, however.

Bret Hart feels like it was too controlled with WWE tip-toeing around so they didn’t offend Owen’s widow, Martha. Bret went on to say that Martha has made “an ass of herself” and pissed him off. He believes she has done more to erase Owen’s legacy and career, and doesn’t want today’s fans to enjoy Owen. He said Martha is “very anal” about not getting over what happened to Owen.

The DVD, Owen Hart: Hart of Gold , comes out in December. It is thought that WWE will try to make sure the entire Hart Family enjoys the film, but as Bret mentioned, there are some thinking that WWE won’t go into any controversial material just to make sure they don’t tick off Martha. Owen Hart potentially going into the WWE Hall of Fame is something fans have wanted for years now. WWE finally seems to have the ability to do it at this point, so it is quite possible it finally happens. If “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior could go in, anything is possible.
