Serena Williams and Drake might look like they’re dating, but sources close to Williams are telling a different story. Serena’s friends told Page Six that the pair isn’t dating, and both are “too busy” for love.
TMZ released photos of Serena Williams and Drake getting cozy at a trendy Cincinnati restaurant, and onlookers reported the pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other. At the restaurant, the couple had a private room, although witnesses could still see Serena and Drake in the lighted alcove. Observers told TMZ that later Williams and Drake were joined by six other people, and had fun ordering rounds of tequila.

The Daily Mail reports that Serena and Drake are dating as well. and a source said to be close to Serena confessed “[p]ublicly she says they’re just friends but Drake has been by Serena’s side throughout the tournament and when they’ve been away from the public and relaxed, it’s been pretty obvious that they are together.”
The Daily Mail also reports that Williams is focused on her US Open bid, but if she can, she’s spending time with Drake:
“Serena’s team have been talking about it in the clubhouse to a few people they trust. She has been incredibly focused on her title bid. But if she’s had a quiet moment she’s spent it with Drake, even going to watch his Wireless set and having dinners in London.”
Other friends close to Williams have busted the rumor that she and Drake are back together, telling Page Six that rumors the pair is dating are not true . Serena Williams and Drake reportedly are just good friends, even though it looks like more:
“Serena briefly dated Drake around 2011 and even though it didn’t end that well, they have remained friends since. He has been at her side at a lot of tournaments recently, including Wimbledon in July, where he sat in her box next to her sister Venus.”
The source confirmed that “Serena is single at the moment and is focused on winning the US Open, and making history.”
Serena and Drake dated in 2011, and it ended badly, with broken hearts after it was discovered Drake was cheating. Sources close to Williams assert that the tennis star doesn’t want to make the same mistake twice. After the couple split the first time, Serena told reporters, “I do make mistakes — like every human does. But the last relationship was too much of a heartbreak for me.”
