A few weeks ago, it was announced that the Apple Watch, Apple’s latest device, would be coming to Best Buy stores. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Best Buy began selling the Apple Watch on August 7.
Best Buy was the first electronics retailer to stock the Apple Watch, aside from a few high-end stores, as well as the Apple Store. Also, when Apple confirmed the news, it said the watch would be sold in 100 Best Buy outlets in the United States. The watch would eventually become available in over 300 stores during the winter season, which is when the company hopes to see sales increase.
However, consumers in Canada can now buy the Apple Watch at Best Buy stores. Best Buy recently announced that the watch would be sold at its Canadian stores. The watch first appeared in Best Buy stores in Canada on August 14, which is a week after the Apple Watch became available at Best Buy stores in America, according to CBC News .
According to Apple Insider , the Apple Watch is available at 50 Best Buy stores across Canada, and at 20 stores the watch will be available for try-on and feel sessions.
Tony Sandhu, the senior vice president of merchandising at Best Buy Canada, said that the Apple Watch is one of the most-searched items on their website, BestBuy.ca. He added that the company was excited to bring the watch to more consumers in Canada, especially with the holidays approaching.
Apple also released a separate statement, which said the company wants customers to love the device and that they are excited to offer it at Best Buy locations in Canada. The company continued to say that the stores would carry the Apple Watch as well as the Apple Watch Sport models just in time for the holiday shopping season.
The Apple Watch, which allows access to music, email, phone, and even info about your workouts, is not just available at Best Buy stores in Canada — consumers can also buy it online at Best Buy’s website.
As of now, Apple has not mentioned or released the sales figures for the Apple Watch. However, the company did say that the demand for it has been strong.
Canadian consumers who want the Apple Watch will pay $699 for the standard version, but they can get the smaller model Apple Watch Sport for $449. There is a high-end edition they can get for $13,000.
