Macklemore and Tricia Davis are now married, and the parents of Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty. The rapper, along with Ryan Lewis and Ed Sheeran, has released a song called “Growing Up (Sloane’s Song)” which features father and daughter on the cover as a means of an announcement.
The couple, who were engaged for two years, also announced that they got married on June 27th.
“Got married on June 27th once the Supreme Court ruled same sex couples could too…,” she wrote. “And now new music. Thank you all for being patient, this year has been incredible so far, we love you.”
“Our daughter, Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty, was born 2 months ago on May 29th,” Macklemore wrote in an emotional post published on his website. “There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe. She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her.”
Hollywood Life believes that this was the perfect way to announce baby Sloane’s birth .
“The 32-year-old surprised with his fans with the song on August 5 along with some wonderful news from his personal life. ‘Our daughter, Sloane Ava Simone Haggerty was born 2 months ago on May 29th,’ Macklemore wrote on his Facebook. ‘There is nothing like the joy and happiness that comes from bringing a baby into this universe. She has filled my heart in ways that I never knew were possible. She is the love of my life. This song is for her.’ We’re not crying, you are!”

Along with Ed Sheeran, Macklemore and Ryan White wanted to deliver this song to fans in a simple way.
“We didn’t want to do a big campaign or anything over the top with this,” the “Same Love” performer explained. “We just wanted to put out good music, directly to the people that have been here since the beginning. Thank you for your patience. Hope you enjoy.”

Macklemore has had a rough year, battling addiction and the anxiety over producing new music that would be as successful as his prior works.
“When you try to escape yourself, life has an interesting way of creating situations that force you to come back. To look at who you are. This is why ‘Growing Up’ felt like the right song to re-emerge with. It’s where I’ve been the last year, through all the ups and downs. We didn’t want to do a big campaign or anything over the top with this. We just wanted to put out good music, directly to the people that have been here since the beginning.
