The Bachelor fake wedding is making news today as Bachelor In Paradise fans are learning that Marcus Grodd and Lacy Faddoul weren’t legally married during their ceremony in Mexico on June 4. According to Daily Mail , the couple did not obtain a marriage certificate in the United States before saying their “I Do’s” in Mexico.
Although Bachelor In Paradise host Chris Harrison is ordained, the couple’s wedding ceremony was nothing more than a public expression of their love.
As viewers tuned in to watch Lacy and Marcus tie the knot, most just assumed that the two applied for a marriage license in The States before going to Mexico for their ceremony. This, of course, isn’t uncommon for people who have destination weddings outside of the U.S. Now, however, reports indicate otherwise, suggesting that Marcus and Lacy aren’t even legally married.
The Bachelor fake wedding was apparently done for ratings only, and that the two haven’t done anything since that time to make their marriage official. According to TMZ , it doesn’t seem like the two have any immediate plans to tie the knot , either.
“We’re told a real marriage won’t be happening anytime soon either since Marcus is away finishing up his Coast Guard training… so the ‘Bachelor’ franchise success ratio is still at 5/34. A little over 10%… the odds were never in their favor,” reports TMZ .
Those who look at a wedding ceremony as something spiritual may believe that Marcus and Lacy are indeed married because they exchanged vows, but the point here is that they are not recognized as a married couple for legal purposes.
The fake wedding between Bachelor / Bachelorette stars has some fans really bummed out. Neither Marcus Grodd nor Lacy Faddoul have responded to these reports, nor have they said whether or not they have any “real” plans to marry.
Regardless, Marcus and Lacy’s outdoor wedding was filmed by ABC and aired on Sunday night during the season premiere of Bachelor In Paradise . As previously reported by the Inquisitr , there wasn’t a dry eye on the beach, especially when the two read their vows to each other.
“I still don’t feel I deserve you. You show me every day your strength and courage, and for that and many other reasons you are my greatest love,” Marcus told his bride.
“The love that we share can’t possibly be defined by the words that we say today. You’re so kind, caring and patient and as we embark on the sacred covenant I want you to know I’ll live every day to love you more than the one before,” Lacy told her groom.
