Ed Sheeran played two sold out shows at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland on July 24 and 25, 2015. Sheeran was excited to play for over 16,000 Irish fans.

“Can’t wait for this weekends shows at Croke Park stadium. I love me some Ireland”

Sheeran’s acoustic set included some of his biggest hits , like “Photograph,” “Thinking Out Loud,” and “Give Me Love.” Ed also played a few covers, like Blackstreet’s “No Diggity” and Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition.”

About halfway through the set, Sheeran brought out Dublin band Kodaline who performed “All I Want.” Afterwards, Ed invited Glen Hansard from The Frames to the stage. Together, they performed “The Auld Triangle” and “Molly Malone,” a song about a Dublin fishmonger who died of a fever while young.

After their collaborative performance, Ed Sheeran helped Kodaline bassist Jason Boland propose to his girlfriend on stage. After Etaoin Corr, Boland’s girlfriend, was invited on stage, Sheeran put his friend on the spot, saying “Jason, you’ve got something to say.”

According to Idolator , “fan footage shows Boland, getting visibly emotional as he searches for the right words to say. ‘I can’t imagine another day without this girl,’ he says, before he gets teary and down on one knee — and she says yes. Sheeran and the rest of Kodaline stood by, ready to give congratulatory hugs.”

After the show, the future Mrs. Boland tweeted her thanks to Ed Sheeran.

“@edsheeran you’re the best! Thank u so much for letting us share your night & for making it so incredibly special!”

Mr. Sheeran seems to be making a habit of assisting with the big question! Last week, Ed drove 5 hours to help his friend Jake Roche propose to his girlfriend on stage. In an interview with EW , Ed Sheeran discussed how they deal with the requests for proposals they receive on a daily basis.

“We always say no just because if it’s planned, it looks planned. Yesterday we had a spontaneous one — a dude sitting in the second row, every now and then he’d pull out a banner that just said, ‘Proposal on stage?’ and then close it. And halfway through the gig I was like, ‘F—it, just come up!’ So that was cool. And I felt something because of that because it was so spontaneous — I got emotional watching it. So it just depends.”

I wonder if Ed Sheeran has anything up his sleeve for his next show in Houston, Texas…
