Singer Patricia Navidad was half-way through a live television performance when she suffered the embarrassing predicament of her sanitary towel falling out in front of the audience watching at home.
The 42-year-old vocalist was performing her song “Viva Mexico” for Univision’s Despierta America , a morning television programme that translates as Wake Up America.
Attention soon turned from her impressive vocal performance to the sanitary towel on the floor after it dropped, which left the people in the studio and viewers at home stunned. You can check out a clip of the sanitary towel slipping out below.
Rather than flinching and being embarrassed by this occurrence, Patricia Navidad continued like a professional. That didn’t stop it from instantly going viral, and the incident has since been watched hundreds of thousands of times across YouTube.
However, Patricia Navidad had the perfect response to the unfortunate incident, taking to her Twitter account to upload several posts that made light of the scenario, and also explained why she shouldn’t be mocked.
The singer originally tweeted, “I want to make it clear that I never threw or would throw the pad . It fell by itself through a very sophisticated tunnel! Thank you, I love you.”
She then went on to add, “This is not something I should be ashamed of or be mocked for. But while judging, bullying, and pointing at me you forget you are not what you say you are.”
According to People , Patricia Nevidad also then superbly joked on Twitter, “I don’t need wings to fly, I have imagination, and thanks to God, I have a sense of humor. I’m not a boxer. I’m a Warrior, and I never throw in the towel unless I don’t need it anymore!”
Navidad then shared a few words of wisdom, proclaiming, “They say that a man who treats a woman like a princess was raised by a queen, those who attack, who raised you?”
