Maci Bookout’s new book, Bulletproof , hits bookshelves next week, and while the Teen Mom OG star is certainly excited about her latest project, she also has a few reservations. During an interview with The Ashley’s Reality Roundup on July 14, Maci Bookout admitted she was nervous for her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Edwards, to read the soon-to-be released book, which chronicles their strained relationship.
“I am anxious for it to be out there, just because Ryan and I are in a better place now, and the book really goes into detail about our relationship and how things went downhill. It talks about the struggles that we had, and how I felt about certain things he had been doing. It also talks about what I had been doing wrong, so I’m anxious for him to hear about it. But at the same time, he lived it too. It’s almost his life written in a book too.”
Maci Bookout was dating Edwards when fans first met her on MTV’s 16 & Pregnant in 2009, but after welcoming their son, Bentley, and becoming engaged, the reality couple’s relationship took a turn for the worse. Since then, they’ve often been seen at odds over their co-parenting schedule for Bentley, as well as each other’s romances.
Luckily, since filming wrapped on the latest season of Teen Mom , Teen Mom OG , Maci Bookout’s relationship with Edwards has improved. During the show, Bookout and Edwards couldn’t seem to get on the same page with a lot of things, and Bookout often chose to instead communicate with his parents. Now, however, Bookout and Edwards are able to be more “adult” about their issues.
Still, Maci Bookout worries her candid revelations in Bulletproof could come as a shock to her former fiancé.
“I know he’s preparing for the worse though. There will be some things that he won’t want to read, or might make him mad, but it’s not anything that we haven’t already gone through. He won’t be surprised by anything, let’s say that.”
As for Maci Bookout’s current boyfriend, Taylor McKinney, she claims they haven’t discussed whether or not he would read Bulletproof .
“One thing that I’m nervous for him to read about is my relationship with Ryan. I wouldn’t want to read about him and his first love.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Maci Bookout and McKinney welcomed their first child together, daughter Jayde, at the end of May, and recently shared her first photo online .
