David Fincher made suspicious comments about Ben Affleck, and they have everyone talking today.
According to Yahoo! News , the Gone Girl director insinuated that Affleck was unfaithful to Jennifer Garner while he was filming. Fincher said that Affleck is “extraordinarily good” at making up conversations, a sign that he could carry on an affair without anyone really knowing.
“If I was his wife, I think I would be very suspicious, always, of whoever just called because he has a real gift at being able to insinuate a conversation,” Fincher said. “He has to do these things in the foreground where he takes out his phone and looks at it and he puts it away so his sister doesn’t see it. There are people who do that and it’s too pointed. But Ben is very, very subtle and there’s a kind of indirectness to the way he can do those things. Probably because he’s so duplicitous,” he added.
David Fincher’s “suspicious” comments have come to light just one week after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their plans to divorce. According to E! News , Fincher actually said the statement above with a bit of a laugh. The comments are part of a commentary segment on the Gone Girl DVD. Of course, no one paid much attention to Fincher’s words when the DVD was released, but now that Affleck’s marriage is over, there seems to be a much stronger message there.
Since there are all kinds of infidelity rumors going around, one has to wonder if Fincher had reason to believe that Ben was being unfaithful to his wife. From a rumored romance with Emily Ratajkowski (Ben’s Gone Girl co-star), to secret phone calls and emails to Jennifer Lopez, the internet has been buzzing with possible scandals. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Ben was even linked to Margot Robbie , having a supposed “longtime crush” on her since he watched her in The Wolf Of Wall Street .
Those rumors were quickly debunked, however, as sources say that Ben and Margot barely spent any time together while not on the set of Suicide Squad . Robbie, of course, is dating Tom Ackerley, and the two are said to be very much in love.
