Apple Music is here, after a long-awaited hype, and there are things to love and hate about the streaming service that is becoming Spotify’s biggest competition.

Even though there are several glitches with the new service, users and industry pros are confident it will be a success, if only for the name alone.

As Apple Music has been downloaded recently onto cell phones everywhere, it seemed like an appropriate time to point out some of the best and worst things about the new product. Here are three things to love and three things to hate about Apple Music.

THREE THINGS TO LOVE ABOUT APPLE MUSIC

Apple Music didn’t disappoint in several areas, and the things they did right makes it seem like a pretty great service. For starters, everyone who signs up for the streaming service gets three entire months free. Most services will only offer 30 days free, which puts Apple Music way at the top for now. And, thanks to Taylor Swift going after Apple , the artists get paid for it as well. Here are three other things worth loving about the new program.

1. A Great Selection

When the idea of Apple Music first came out, there were several celebs who didn’t seem too excited about the prospect of letting consumers listen to their music free. Because of that, most people expected a selection with several holes, but that’s not the case. Even though it’s missing artists like the Beatles and Prince, the selection is surprisingly large, giving Spotify a run for their money.

2. Humanized Playlists

The playlists feel like they were put together by a real human. Apple Music has decided against using algorithms to create their playlists. Instead, Apple uses feedback from you and others to create surprisingly accurate playlists. What’s more, it uses your iTunes to find more music that you’re sure to love.

3. It Makes People Like Radio

Their radio program, Beats 1, is actually not bad, and it’s making consumers like radio again. Users can create a streaming radio service based on a certain genre or artist, kind of like Pandora, except with way fewer adds and a way better selection of music.

THREE THINGS TO HATE

Like every new service, there will always be a few glitches that need fixing. Besides the fact that there are connection issues all over the place, here are three things to hate about Apple Music.

1. A Confusing Interface

The humanizing elements of the service are great, but it might be the main contributor towards an extremely confusing interface. When you want to select music you like, it asks you to shuffle through bobbing circles, which is awkward to say the least. A list would have been much simpler to manage.

2. Connect Tanked

One of Apple’s biggest schemes for getting their new system out there was a social network called Connect, which seemed to have a similar interface as Twitter. However, after it’s release, it’s clear that it’s less than stellar . Though there were promises of connecting with great musicians, the social network didn’t pan out.

3. It’s Full of Bugs

With such a wide interface that has a lot of promises to fill, a few bugs were expected, but the issues consumers have been having with Apple Music so far is ridiculous. Besides repeated connection issues, many users have been struggling to get their desktop and iPad versions of the program to function. It’s also filled with unnamed, unplayable gray tracks.

Because it comes from Apple, users are expecting them to work it out, and they believe that there are so many things to love that the program will ultimately be a success , despite the things to hate about Apple Music.
