When a popular movie star welcomes first child, it’s not only a grand event for him, it’s also a happy occasion for all of his fans. Benedict Cumberbatch became a father this Saturday, what has changed his family life forever.
According to Popsugar , Cumberbatch and Hunter welcomed their first child, who is a boy.
“Benedict Cumberbatch is a dad! The actor’s wife, theater director Sophie Hunter, gave birth to a boy, a rep confirmed on Saturday. “Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are delighted to announce the arrival of their beautiful son,” the rep said in a statement released to the press.
The rep added, “We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks.”
Though the birth of the child is a big piece of news, it was not something unexpected. On the contrary, the couple did not try to conceal their relationship and, well, did not attempt to stop the rumors about Hunter’s pregnancy. According to the Hollywood Gossip , Benedict and Sophie told their fans about the child in January.
“Cumberbatch and Hunter got engaged in November of last year, and rumors that she was carrying the British heartthrob’s baby soon began to circulate.
“Shortly thereafter, Hunter confirmed that she was pregnant in January, and Benedict and Sophie got married a month later on Valentine’s Day.
“The couple has yet to reveal any details about the baby, but sources say we can expect the release of a name and photos sometime in the next week.”
While some of Cumberbatch’s fans are truly glad for him, and others (especially passionate fangirls) cry over the fact that they are not the ones he married, there are also other stars that might make their fans excited with personal news pretty soon.
According to the Inquisitr , Corey Simms might soon turn out to be a happy father as well.
“Corey Simms will reportedly add another child to the cast of Teen Mom 2. According to a new report, Simms, the first husband of Leah Messer, and his new wife, Miranda Patterson, are currently expecting their first child together.”
However, so far, Benedict Cumberbatch is the only one we can congratulate. As the new information about the child will be provided, there will be an update. One can only say now that we all welcome the first child of Cumberbatch and Hunter and wish him well.
