Gigi Hadid may be single following her recent split from on-again, off-again boyfriend Cody Simpson, however, despite rumors that suggest the young model has already moved on to singer Joe Jonas, both Jonas and Hadid are denying the claims.
Jonas spoke out against the rumors in a recent interview with Access Hollywood Live , telling co-host Kit Hoover that he and Hadid are nothing more than good friends.
When Hoover insinuated that Jonas and Hadid were “young and in love,” the singer quickly dispelled the rumors, joking with the host by noting, “Just puttin’ words in my mouth, huh?”
While Joe didn’t offer up any other details regarding his friendship with Hadid, who was photographed grabbing lunch with the singer earlier last week, the duo sparked dating rumors just days after Gigi and former beau Simpson confirmed their split in an official statement from Hadid’s rep.
In fact, Hadid herself laughed off rumors that she and Jonas are more than friends last October, telling E! News that claims that she and Joe are anything more than friends are simply “hilarious.”
Hadid and Simpson announced their amicable split just last week in a statement to E! Online from Gigi’s rep, who insisted that the couple are still in love but are currently focused on their careers.
“They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future. They remain friends with no hard feelings and each other’s biggest supporters.”
In fact, Cody’s sister, Alli Simpson, dished on the state of the duo’s breakup during the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s Super Saturday event, in which she admits that Hadid and her brother are both having a hard time with the split but remain close pals.
“We’re all still hanging out. We’re super close and all care about each other immensely.”
Fans were shocked to learn of Hadid’s split from Simpson, seeing as the gorgeous couple sparked marriage rumors not long before announcing their split.
Alli commented on the possibility of marriage between her brother and Gigi only weeks before the couple’s split, telling E! that she’s encouraging the duo to take the plunge.
“I mean honestly right now it seems like they will! I’m the one that’s like just get married already, it’s ridiculous. They’re so adorable. They bring out the best in each other.”
Currently, Gigi is busy showing off her amazing figure at amfAR’s 22nd Cinema Against AIDS Gala in Cannes, Daily Mail confirms, where she made headlines for donning an amazing, cleavage-baring white gown by Tom Ford.
