Facebook CFO Gideon Yu is leaving Facebook, with suggestions the departure may be related to a fallout with Facebook CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Yu joined Facebook in 2007 after stints with Yahoo, YouTube and Sequoia Capital. During his tenure, Facebook has raised over $500 million in funding, although not enough it would seem, with strong rumors that Facebook is looking to raise a new round of $100 million.
According to Kara Swisher at AllThingsD :
“several sources within the company said the departure was more due to an increasingly strained relationship between Yu and Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg over strategic disagreements about a wide range of issues from increasing advertising revenue to fundraising discussions with investors.”
Facebook said in a statement that it was looking to hire a new CFO with “public company experience,” suggesting that a Facebook IPO might be coming later this year or next year.
