Britney Spears And Iggy Azalea’s ‘Pretty Girls’ Music Video Debuts: What Do Fans Think Of The Song Now?

Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea have finally released the music video for their new single “Pretty Girls.” Fans have been waiting for the video’s release two weeks after the pop duo released their song on iTunes , Spotify, and to mainstream radio.

The “Pretty Girls” music video references ’80s clothes, slang, and pop culture references. Spears is seen wearing a leopard print crop top while Azalea wears a denim vest and pink sports bra. Spears and Azalea join their friends as they embark on a fun road trip to a nightclub. The music video is also inspired by the classic movie Earth Girls Are Easy , which was one of the biggest comedies of the 1980s era.

Spears and Azalea released the “Pretty Girls” single earlier this month after the track leaked online. The album artwork for the single also leaked early, prompting the pop singers to properly unveil the album artwork on their social media profiles.

The music video has been getting mixed reviews from both the media and fans of the singers. Los Angeles Times reporter August Brown says that “‘Pretty Girls’ is enough to make John Waters cringe .”Ouch.

“But this video is so aggressive in its attempted self-awareness that it actually has the opposite effect of affirming the worst of its ditsy-blond stereotypes. Britney, now a full-time Las Vegas professional working mother currently fighting through a workplace accident, deserves a more noble setting than this.”

“The mid-video conversational interlude alone, where Azalea uses eye lasers to turn a ’90s brick phone into a Samsung smartphone while Spears and their convertible-mates howl in aggressively Valley patois, is enough to make John Waters abandon camp for sober Ibsen revivals for the rest of his career.”

Some like that Iggy and Britney look to be having fun and enjoying themselves in this music video. It’s supposed to be a fun and campy video that’s self-aware of its silliness. Britney is often noted by “robotic,” by both fans and haters of the singer. Fans will also love the fact that the music video shows a lot of Britney’s classic dance moves.

“Pretty Girls” did trend on Twitter once it dropped, but only temporarily. That hasn’t stopped fans from giving their input about Spears and Azalea’s new music video. Some fans love the single even more, now that they’ve seen the music video. As for other of Britney’s fans, they think the video is as bad as the song.

In all seriousness, this really makes me want to crimp my hair. Britney & Iggy’s video: http://t.co/4sjtIsPt3p #PrettyGirls @enews tonight.

Not only was #PrettyGirls a really bad song to begin with and it has the weakest rap verse ever, but the #PrettyGirlsMusicVideo is worse.

Azalea confirmed to MTV News that “ Pretty Girls ” will be on Spears’ ninth studio album, although the singer revealed that she has no plans to release an album anytime soon. Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea are expected to perform “Pretty Girls” live for the first time at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 17.
