Have you ever googled the word “Santorum?” If you have, you know that Santorum, according to Google, is a disgusting sex act. Did you also know that gay blogger Dan Savage is the man responsible for turning Rick Santorum’s last name into an internet joke? Well, he did. But Santorum isn’t angry at Savage. Nope, he’s just praying for him.
Real Clear Religion asked Santorum what he would tell Dan Savage if he ever met him. Santorum said:
“ I would tell him that I’m praying for him. He obviously has some serious issues. You look at someone like that who can say and do the things that he’s doing and you just pray for him and hopefully he can find peace.”
The serious issues that Santorum seems to be talking about is Savage’s homosexuality. In case you’re wondering, Savage is fine with the fact that he’s gay.
Savage responded in an email to Mother Jones, saying:
“(Santorum) wants to be president so that he can micromanage the sex lives of all Americans… and I’m the one with issues? Because I made a dirty joke at his expense eight or nine years ago and it stuck? I’m the one with issues? Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Rick can pray for me. I’ll gay for him. And we can call it even.”
Savage embarked on his mission to change the definition of Santorum after Rick made a comment likening gay sex to bestiality. The disgusting definition of “Santorum” is currently the fourth top result on Google.
