Kate Hudson is going from long beautiful locks to a slightly shorter look and it’s all thanks to her new role in the upcoming film The Long Night .

That’s right, Kate Hudson had to have her beautiful blonde hair chopped for her new role in the upcoming film, The Long Night , but before everyone starts freaking out – no, she didn’t end up with a spiky pixie cut. Instead Kate got herself a cute little lob, otherwise known as a long bob.

According to the Huffington Post , Kate Hudson took to Instagram to show off the new look . While the Kate’s “shocked” face is quite hilarious, it’s all in the name of fun.

Kate captioned the photograph with “First day on set of new film and they’re going to town on my hair! Ah!!!!!”

According to E! News , Kate rarely changes up her look , choosing to keep her hair the same shade of blonde and just past shoulder length in what many call the beach Barbie look. Kate’s look suits her well, and a few inches shouldn’t make all that big of a difference, and a role in a new movie is a very good reason to switch up the look a bit!

So what do fans have to say about Kate’s new look? Just check out the Twitter response for yourself!

Of course, the slightly shorter look isn’t all that shocking in comparison to some of the other celebrity hair transformations we have seen as of late. While the pixie hair cut was pretty big for a while, it seems as if the new hip thing to do is dying your hair different colors, such as Hilary Duff’s multi-color transformation. According to a previous report by the Inquisitr , Hilary Duff switched up her hair color drastically three times in a matter of weeks going from blue to pink to gray.

So what do you think? Do these few inches really make all that big a difference when it comes to Kate Hudson’s look?
