If you’ve ever been stuck watching Mariah Carey’s Glitter and other horrendous movies aboard an airline flight because you didn’t bring anything of your own to watch you’ll likely appreciate Digiboo, a new service that makes it easy to rent and even buy hundreds of different movies at local airport terminals.
The service works by allowing buyers and renters to download movies onto their own USB 3.0 stick in just a few short seconds. Movies can be purchased for $14.99 or rented for just $3.99.
Digiboo has done a great job of licensing material which provides buyers with access to Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros. and Lionsgate films.
Movies include such blockbusters as Captain American and Hugo to name just a few.
According to a Digiboo executive the service was put in place for “convenience” while he adds:
“A customer doesn’t have to plan ahead, or to have ever downloaded one of our movies before. He or she can make the decision at the airport, just like buying M&Ms or magazines.”
With the Digiboo service just getting started it’s limited at this time to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport however it will soon arrive in Seattle and Portland airports.
If successful other airports will soon follow and the company would also like to place its easy to access service in thousands of public locations across the country, expanding beyond the airport business.
I could see Amtrak, Greyhound and other public transportation hubs following suit since those trips take much longer to complete than airline flights.
Would you be willing to give Digiboo a trial run?
